La Criniere Golf Club.

The Criniere Golf course is only 35 minutes from us at La Vieille Grange. It is a 9 hole golf course but don't be fooled by that as it is a very beautiful course and very challenging. It is a very mature course with trees, water features and landscaping. Each of the 9 holes are a joy to play but the last hole is magnificent as it is played across a lake right onto the front lawn of a beautiful old Chateau. When you finish you just want to play on again, and you can as for 22 Euro you can play all day if you so wish. There is a restaurant and a coffee shop on site.

Ten pin bowling, Modern cinema, swimming and squash.

Just 35 minutes away is St Brieuc where you will find Ten pin bowling, modern cinema, very modern olympic size swimming pool and a squash court.The bowling complex also caters for those who like to play pool.

Bread Making days.

From April through till October we do bread making workshops. The bread is made the old fashioned French way in a four hundred year old wood fired bread oven. It takes you through the whole process from the mixing of the dough at a very ancient mill to the actual lighting of the bread oven to the baking of the bread. We even taught James Martin the T.V. Chef how to do it. He came for a couple of hours initially and then instead stayed all day!

Horse riding.

Our area of Brittany is renown for its countryside and its horse riding. There are lots of places to ride and a very good Horse riding centre close by. Our daughter is horse mad and can arrange to take people to the centre to just ride out through the woods or take lessons with a qualified instructor. The rates are very reasonable and much cheaper than in the U.K. We also have our own little pony and we take her out with a special lightweight cart through the woods to the village.
